Clean up, clean up

August 17th, 2008

It’s been a busy summer and we’ve been guilty of blog neglect. Here’s what we missed:

Geordan was student of the month in May!

Yay Geordan!

Back in April, his teacher did an assessment. Geordan did overall pretty well. We’ve been working on the things he didn’t do so well on… like Math readiness and toilet training. We’ve been diaperless for a month now. Geordan now wakes up from naps to go potty! He’s only wet the bed one time.

He recognizes people he met months ago and remembers their names. He can count and is trying to read. He also says NO a lot… thank Uncle Tim for that.

New Site Is Up

I finally cobbled together some sort of consultation page for my web development work. Next, I’ll work on business cards. YAY. Check it out at http://c-netconsulting.com.

I believe we’re going to NY on Friday. We’re going to get to meet Baby Mason! Geordan’s just getting cousins all over the place.

Now lets test out this new image upload-thingy I put in last week. More Pics! Some of the are before Geordan’s last haircut and some are after. And there’s one of me playing with my new camera.

Second Week, A-OK

We’ve kinda started potty training with Geordan. He’s been telling us for a while when he was dirty or wet. But I’ve never thought he was coordinated to handle his piece. Handling your junk is a huge part of potty training. So we got him a potty and urinal. Things seem to be ok. He’s managed to make it to the potty in the middle of number 2 a couple of times. I’m counting those as victories. He just looked up and said ‘Potty’ and broke off at a run up the steps. Sure enough, he dropped a load. Victory.

He’s not quite as accurate with his pee-pee though. We’ve gotten him to pee in the potty 1 time. Every other time he grabs his crotch and says potty, it’s over before we can get up the steps and in the bathroom. *Sigh* we have time. I’m sure he’ll be using the bathroom on his own by the time he turns 6.

Denielle is going out of town to some drill next week. Just me alone with the baby for 4 days. I feel sorry for him because that means he’ll have to get up at 5am with me. We gave it a test run this morning and he slept until I set him down in the Daycare.

Anyways, thats it. If any of you ladies would like to come up for 4 days and be a surrogate Mommy, I’m down with it.

Secretly I’m working on a number of projects. I’ve got a sports blogging site with about 40 people who write everyday. It’s called Real Sports Bloggers. It’s cool because after a year, it’s finally turning a profit. For a mere 1200  hours of work late at night and early in the morning, I now make a smooth $75 a month. I could have made more, faster - but I didn’t want to plaster the site with ads. I also allow he writers to keep whatever money they make. We plan to ad an internet radio station and fantasy sports. Cool, huh?

I work on Denielle’s site Wishfulbeading.com. It’s still under construction. I’m also a part of the Upstart Blogger Network and I write about Sports on Infinite Critique. Don’t blow my cover, they think I’m some sort of writer *shhhh*

We were robbed about a month ago. Someone got us for nearly $25,000 in stuff. He stole my Euphonium and Denny’s flutes. He stole a wedding ring and a broken laptop. I’m so mad I could spit. Our Investigator is lame and we’ve called him 20 times. I hate cops. On day I’ll meet one thats worth a damn and I won’t know what to do with myself.

On the flip side, Denielle opened her new Starbucks and its doing well. I also start a new job next week. I’ll be the IT Guy - a genuine IT GUY - for one of the local high schools. No teaching

YAY

We’ve also had some new babies in the family. Here’ a recap:

Have you met Layla?

I’m hoping that my sister will allow me to take her babies for a few days. I’m sure she needs a break. That tall fella is Pharoahe. He’s like 18 or something.

Ok, Pharoahe is really like 6 years old. I just really love this photo. It makes me smile!

Ok, we all know Geordan in his Easter Suit from last year.

Sorry, I love this photo too. It’s Geordan’s Zoolander look: Blue Steel. Now my closest friend - and back up play-play wifey - Liz had a beautiful baby girl. She has wonderful blue eyes and mastered Blue Steel at birth. I was gonna post the photos, then I forgot that I never asked if I could. Trust me, though, this little girl is HOT!

More to follow. It 7 minutes before my alarm goes off

My Lady, She is Lame

March 8th, 2008

For those who don’t know, Geordan does have a mother. His mother is Denielle Cathleen Podraza - i think i spelled her middle name right. She’s a soldier with the 208th Division. She’s also a the manager of a brand spanking new Starbucks here in the Columbia - JUST opened this morning (Go Baby! bring home that money!). She is a classically trained flautist who handcrafts jewelry and scrapbooks for fun. Thats about all i know about her. I can’t seem to get her to sit down and blog much, so none of you have met her. I’ve been looking for recent pictures all week and haven’t found any. I have, however, found this picture of her family. They look right-nice don’t they?

Maybe Denielle will get on soon and post more pictures of her family and herself. *shrug* either way, now you know what she looks like. I hope I haven’t broken anyone’s cover by posting this photo.

More photos of my and Geordan to follow in the next post.
